The most versatile hardware compressor on the market? From the most gentle compression to hard limiting, from smooth and transparent to dirty and grungy, Stereo dual compressor or dual mono single compressors, the Sage Sound 1u Dual Compressor aims to do it all… and do it all well.
Intended usage: soundsystem, studio and live sound.
FEATURES:
-Stereo mode = two compressors in series, with summed detection for proper stereo imagine.
Possible uses include; Dual stage compression allowing for high gain reduction with maximum transparency for mastering or mix and match compressor types to mimic the legendary 1176 into LA2A trick, with one unit, in stereo!
-Mono mode = two compressors on two separate signals.
Possible uses include; separate compressors for two microphone channels or separate kick and snare compression or just whenever you need two separate compressors.
-Bypass switch.
-Ratio control, continuously variable from 1:1 (no compression) to 20:1 (limiting).
-Opto/VCA/FET switch for different compression flavours. Uses combinations of RMS/peak, feedforward/feedback detection, look ahead, soft clipping and time constant adjustments to facilitate these flavours.
-Attack and Release controls. Time ranges depend on the opto/VCA/FET switch settings but can be set extremely fast (FET) to extremely slow (opto).
-Side chain High Pass filter.
-Make up gain control.
-Wet/Dry control for parallel compression.
-6 LED meter, with button to toggle between gain reduction and output level.
-Brushed stainless steel box with durable front/rear panels, available in the full Sage colour range and knob colour choices.
CONNECTIONS:
-Analog Jack and XLR inputs and outputs, all balanced.
-S/PDIF input and output.
-AES/EBU input and output.
(Any combination of input and output sockets can be used simultaneously)
